Mount Fuji Trip Nov 2008
We took a trip up to Mount Fuji with Mark and Ashley Isenhour and visited the little town of Oshino-Hakkai. It was an overcast day, but occasionally Mount Fuji would peak through the clouds and give us a spectacular view. The fall foliage was beautiful and we enjoyed the day.
This view was from the south towards evening. It is interesting how the clouds form a conical shape around the peak at this time of the evening.

A day in Japan
Don't you just love the shoes? You have to wear out door shoes when out doors and when you go inside you just wear the white boot socks. I say boot because they are actually a shoe made out of material. I have been told that this was a very rare opportunity to have and with that I am very thankful that I was able to spend a day playing dress up and having a great time (except for the raw fish).
Front and Back of kamono
I also had lunch with the women (only one spoke some english) and we managed to have a great time talking and laughing. I'm sure they are still laughing as they watched me attempt to eat with chop sticks, however they did say I did very well for only being here one month. I will have to admit I had no idea what some of that stuff was that I ate and I really didn't like it.

Showa Park Japan
We went to Showa Park which is a huge park. You can bike or walk all over it. We chose biking but there is also play areas with slides and huge white bouncing things (it rained and they had those closed) and a list of just about every activity you can do. Here are the roller slides and you get this vibration sensation going all through you. Josh and Karla were muddy when they had finished.
Yokota AFB house
From the front of our home you can see the church just on the other side of the fence. The other picture is the front view of our house. Its a 4 bedroom house and I do like it. The kitchen isn't anything to speak of and definitely my kitchen in Texas out does this one but over all I can't complain, especially when I see what most of the housing is like on base. It pays to be married to a colonel.
Kelly and Kelly used cars
This is a used car lot in Japan. In fact this is one of the nicer ones. The inside is very small with as many cars cramed together as possible. You are not allowed to test drive a car. You can only look and turn the key. That is it. You do have to realize that the Japanese take pride in what they sell you and you wont get a lemon. So far I would believe that.
747 Business Class Aug 6/7, 2008
We flew business class on our way to Japan. This is the only way to travel however I'm not sure if the pocket book would agree. It was strange to think that we lost a day in that flight as Japan is 15 or so hours ahead of the U.S.
Jaq 10 months
